From Hungary to Home: The Beginning of a Bond

Plop, a fluffy Golden Retriever, was born in Hungary but moved to Romania when he was just a few weeks old. Sadly, his first owner couldn't keep him, and at only three months old, he was put up for adoption.

That’s when fate stepped in.

Ten-year-old Dadu saw something in Plop and begged his mother to adopt him. He named him Plop, meaning poplar tree in Romanian, because of his fluffy white fur that reminded him of the springtime fluff floating from poplars.

From day one, Dadu took ownership seriously. He walked Plop three times a day — before school, after school, and again in the evening. They spent countless afternoons at the local park, on the so-called “Dog Island,” where Plop could run free and chase birds.

Growing Up Together: Lessons in Loyalty

Raising a puppy isn’t always easy. Plop had a habit of peeing indoors and chewing up his mom’s flip-flops. But Dadu was determined to help him grow into a well-behaved companion. One day, in a desperate attempt, he whispered into Plop’s ear:
“Please stop, or Mom might take you away from me.”

That moment marked the beginning of real understanding between them. Over time, they developed their own language — a shared rhythm only they could understand.

And then came the day their bond was tested.
When another dog suddenly attacked Plop at the park, Dadu jumped in front of him to protect his furry friend and was badly bitten. But even after the injury, his love for Plop didn’t waver — if anything, it deepened.
