One quiet morning, as I strolled along the path to the yoga studio, the tranquility was suddenly pierced by a faint meowing sound from the bushes, as if destiny had composed a delicate melody just for this moment.
Following the sound, I discovered a tiny kitten hiding in the grass. Its eyes revealed confusion and helplessness. It was trying to jump over a wall four or five times its height but failed each time, yet it never gave up. I realized this little one might have been accidentally left behind by its mother, desperately searching for a place to belong.
I gently called out to the kitten, hoping it would sense my kindness. It seemed to understand and cautiously approached me. I took out some milk from my bag, carefully tore open the package, and placed it on the ground, hoping it would find some comfort in the warmth. However, it showed little interest in the milk, merely sniffing it before retreating back into the bushes.
Feeling a surge of compassion, I decided to take the kitten to a veterinary clinic. The vet diagnosed it with stress-related issues. That night, it occasionally let out pitiful cries, which tugged at my heartstrings. I searched everywhere for it, but it remained hidden. It wasn’t until the following afternoon that it peeked out from a corner, as if to say, "I'm okay, don't worry."
As time passed, the kitten gradually adapted to its new environment. It learned to use the litter box without any training. Every morning, it would joyfully run around the house, celebrating the start of a new day. It enjoyed sitting beside the sofa while we watched TV, and whenever I came home, it would rush to me, rubbing against my legs, expressing its affection. Petting it, I could hear its purring, like a little engine, which filled me with warmth.
At night, it needed to be close to me to fall asleep. Occasionally, it would nuzzle my face, as if to say, "I truly love you." It never fussed during nail trims or when I wiped its eyes, understanding these were acts of love. It had undoubtedly accepted me as its mother, and I saw it as a precious gift in my life.
Now, this one-month-old baby has become an indispensable part of our family. Its gentle presence and companionship have filled my life with sunshine and warmth. Welcome to my life, my sweet kitten.
