I remember a sunny afternoon when I received a message from a friend, saying their cat had just given birth to a litter of kittens. One of them stood out—so lively and adorable, almost as if it knew it was about to find a new home. I was both excited and anxious, as this was my first real consideration of adopting a cat. But the thought of having a little companion to share my joys and sorrows with gave me the courage to bring you home.
During the week I waited for you, I dedicated almost all my free time to preparing for cat ownership. I poured over book after book on cat care, taking notes on everything from feline behavior and diet to health care and training. I also visited pet stores to pick out toys and supplies, imagining how you might react to them. Each time I saw those adorable toys, I couldn’t help but picture you playing with them, and my heart was full of anticipation.
Finally, the much-anticipated day arrived. When I picked you up from my friend's house, you were curled up in a warm little basket, your tiny body snug and your eyes half-closed, as if still dreaming. I gently picked you up, feeling your soft fur and warm body, and in that moment, I knew I was completely smitten.
As time passed, our bond and affection grew deeper. I remember a time when I was feeling down after a tough day at work. Coming home, I was enveloped in sadness. You seemed to sense my mood, gently jumping onto my lap, looking up at me with those tender eyes, and nuzzling my hand. At that moment, I was surrounded by a warm comfort, and all my worries seemed to vanish.
And then there were the countless ordinary days we spent together. Whether basking in the sunny afternoons or weathering stormy nights, you were always by my side. We played, we napped, and we shared both happiness and sadness. Your presence brought warmth and happiness into my life, and made me treasure every moment we spent together even more.
